Soy milk is too much bad for males

I heard that soy milk contains some low levels of estrogen. Is this true? Is too much a bad thing? I only use it in a.m. on cereal. Damn It, was that a hot flash??

are you a C cup yet.

So i have heard this too. What i’ve read is that it does not contain estrogen but it makes your body think that there is more estrogen then there should be so your body might release more testosterone. That’s one thing that i read. not sure the reliability it is still a new subject but over all they seem to agree it will not hurt you. I only use soy milk in cereal and protein shakes and i have yet to get a hot flash or grow man-boobs and hopefully i wont haha.

soy products will infact increase estrogen levels. Watch for man boobs!

i had a roommate (no, not you KA) who had food/control issues and decided to go vegan for a while and ate a tremendous amt of soy for a few days. she got night sweats and heart palpitations so badly that she almost went to the hospital… the soy combined with just going on the pill, the doc thought her estrogen levels shot up to an abnormal level… she was pretty messed up for a while.

Hormones…weird.

if you start getting the urge to buy Yanni CD’s, switch to regular milk.

or getting hot for Fabio.

be glad you are a dude. hormones suck.

Hey, I may be a “dude” but I’ve been married for almost 15 years plus I have 3 sisters. So while I may not have primary experience, I have been on the receiving end plenty of times.

What is really weird, is that my wife had a hysterectomy because she had cervical cancer about 8 years ago. The doctor wanted to leave her ovaries in so that she could continue to have her natural hormones. So now every month she has a period, you just don’t know it until she starts acting, well…let’s just say not herself.

Bernie

Hey, we got hormones, too! We’re not free range men, y’know.

“soy milk is too much bad for males”…

Ugh, I think the sentence structure is too much bad here, yucky.

lol…free range men.

ok, you guys just don’t have the erratic hormones…

You guys crack me up. I will continue to drink soy milk withouy a secon d thought. Given the two choices, it is a no brainer for me…

Milk

No animal besides humans drinks “milk” after six months, they just can’t process it. Milk creates more digestive issues inside of you than you will ever know. And if one of the two were going to give you “man boobs” it would be real milk. There have been real documented cases of children, both boys and girls growin breasts due to the hormones, and other chemicals in real milk.

soy milk

From everything I have read the health benifits are great.

Until Isee anything in writing that there are significant health drawbacks more that a little estrogen, I will continue drinkning soy milk and eating tofu, and holding the real milk for the ice cream.

Maybe I am a little jaded. I drink soy milk, eat healthy, and exercise and am relatively fit. My brother in law, eats healthy except for the 1/2 to 3/4 gallon of milk he drinks per day. is about 70lbs overweight, and is going in for a stress test on his heart because he went in for a heart scare last week at 30.

Oh yeah, ther are drawbacks to soy…

If you eat a lot (like more than 10lbs) everyday, it will effect your sperm count/effectiveness of your swimmers. I also have found that if I drink more than 1 Vanilla soy latte a day, my farts smell worse. Bottom line is we have much more things to be worring about than consuming that much soy.

I don’t think anyone was arguing the health benefits. I think the original question was related to soy milk increasing estrogen levels?!

What about the permissible levels of pus allowed in milk by the FDA. That’s really scary.

Yes it’s sensationalist scare tactics, but a fun thing to get ST’ers all paranoid about and watch them squirm.

.

If you drink gallons per day it may help you really get in touch with your feminine side…

Kevin

It’s true about the estrogen in the soy milk, and that males shouldn’t exactly be drinking gallons of it. I put vanilla rice milk on my cereal, when I have cereal… which I’ve mostly cut out now anyway though…

Cow’s milk is for baby cows, not humans - baby or adult.
