Sore plantar fascia when skate skiing

In the past I’ve suffered from plantar fasciitis when running. Since using Trigger Point, I haven’t suffered when running.

I still seem to suffer when skate skiing. I do admit that my skate ski form sucks.

Does anyone know a good cure? Insoles?

Kyle,

I have had PF problems in the past and also found that skate skiing has aggrevated it if I am not careful about form. But if I focus on ensuring that my knees stay over the ball of foot (using a much more active foot) than sitting back too far on skis with knees over ankles, then things seem to go away. Have a look at some world cup videos on youtube and you’ll see where the knee is in relation to ball of foot. Also when the knee collapses inside of the ski tip (vs staying over the ski/ball of foot), there is more pressure on the inside of the fascia. I’m not sure getting an orthotic solves the problem. You’ll just feel more pressure on the inside of your arch. Instead, you need your arch to actively work inside the boot (vs being held up by an orthotic). To me its like the difference between running in racing flats vs big supportive medial posted shoes. You can have better form in the racing flats (once you actively use your foot yourself).

Thanks, that advice helped a lot.
