Something New in the Store today

I predict the same. Scattered P4 bottles and some downed riders. It looks like the bottle is a LONG reach to get to and secure back in place. Plus it looks like you might have some interference with the cranks and big ring. I just hope I am not riding near some guy when he has that problem.

Maybe the idea of bottles seperating from their owner will cut down on drafting

Holding up your hand and displaying your missing digits will be the new gang sign for P4 owners

Just dont ride up the front then !

Please, PLEASE, tell me that’s not the stock POS Cervelo brake on the front.

It is, isn’t it. That’s just wrong.

If I had one I wouldn’t use it as a water bottle, I’d use it as a spare tire container.

Campy Record Front brake
.

Oh thank goodness!

I saw the black brake and was scared…

clearly the owner is someone with too much money and not enough sense. how else do you explain EVERY GIZMO AND GADGET for cycling known to man cluttering an otherwise beautiful frame.

Was/is probably a golfer too.

Disgusting.
I attended college on a golf scholarship. Smoked and drank every week.

Now I do sub-5 70.3.

However, I agree with you that is a jainky-lookin’ bike.

I wonder if I can wear a condom catheter and connect the exit hose to the water bladder so that I don’t have to stop to urinate?

Its an OK bike, nice, whatever…but about the most boring frame I’ve ever seen. I ride cuz I like nice bikes and that includes the way they look and get looked at. There’s way too many better looking bikes that are only a few seconds slower over 40K, then to ride one that is boring and gains you 2-3 seconds, maybe. Please note that I have no intentions to Kona qualify, race elite, race to crush dreams, etc. I race for the love of racing and having fun…and this does not include riding a boring bike : )

Looks Slowwwww!

seriously?

you haven’t seen the other 2 million round tube double diamond frames that get made each year? and that people continue to fawn over if it says something italian on them?

is it more boring than those?

Probably a bit behind the drag curve over here, but just got the Triathlete mag in the post. Love the paint jobs on the bike, including the P4. But you just have to paint that bottle to match the rest of the frame.

Hey man,
I like your candid reply.

I’m about improving speed, but aesthetics plays a part too.

What really counts is how well these units perform in the real world (not just in the wind tunnel). I think that there won’t be enough units out there for this years Tri season to get a sense as to how good or bad these things really are. One thing I can tell you for sure is that they really need a snappy paint job as the Darth Vader Look really doesn’t cut it. I saw a static display (no rear brake) of a P4 at Clearwater Beach last November and I was underwhelmed by the color scheme. Tim

cervelorider, i think if you take the position that the wind tunnel is not part of the real world, you need to accept you will never know anything about how well a bike performs. unless tom does some testing with it, lol

also there is no colorscheme, hence your underwhelmment…

i made up a new word

Yep, I’ve seen them all and most are very boring. But a plain old black bike with nothing unusual about it = boring. Now you take something unusual, Zipp 2001, Look 596, etc, and those are nice to look at. Different, nice graphics, etc. Nice bikes to ride!! Oh, and I own them both : )

The Look is a Looker for sure

But the P4 definitely has some unusual features

like the big ugly water bottle area

lol
.

And the straight as an arrow top tube makes the thing look like a stretch limo : ) The frames look like they are 3 ft longer then any other frame.

Graphics to make this thing more pleasing to the eye would have worked wonders!

I have to agree that the P4 paint scheme is, well, boring. If I’m spending that kind of cash on the bike, I’m also spending the cash to put a classy custom paint job on it…like the one on my '08 red/white P2C!
