The first one we have had through , it took a little while to be built, The owner took the frame away for a tour of all his riding friends Garages, local pool halls, Raw bars etc
It was too tempting , I got out the stepladder & rode a frame 2 X sizes too big for me , Even still Its faaast
If you are in Virginia Beach this weekend for the Shamrock Marathon we’ll have a booth with a P4 on display, come by & run your hands over one ! http://www.shamrockmarathon.com/site3.aspx
clearly the owner is someone with too much money and not enough sense. how else do you explain EVERY GIZMO AND GADGET for cycling known to man cluttering an otherwise beautiful frame.
…EVERY GIZMO AND GADGET for cycling known to man cluttering an otherwise beautiful frame.
huh? what gizmos and gadgets? i see a pretty standard build with a conservative race wheelset (older zipp 909) and even a basic hed aerobar setup. the srm crankset with rotorcranks is the only real $$$ upgrade i see, and that isn’t even considered exotic these days. power meters are fairly common in any transition area and i wouldn’t really call it ‘clutter’.
As two of the many who can only dream of riding this bike to anywhere it’s capability, we still cannot get excited about it. It just doesn’t look ‘blingy’ enough.
The wheel combo is unusual , the Disc is the bike owners , I had to throw on a front on for the photo & thats what was hanging about in the store. It’s a 58.
We do carry a lot of Cervelo, 22 out on the floor right now ! It’s our favorite, We also stock Look & Orbea
I predict an increase in poor bike handling skills/crashes from riders on that bike. Assuming they want to use that aero bottle to hold a drink, it seems like a LONG reach down to get it. And how many will be scattered on courses when riders go to replace them and “miss” the holder? Just my prediction
Nice build up, I’m curious who that bike now belongs to though! I’ll be there this weekend, hopefully I’ll run into you. See ya then and if you can hold a Small Final Kick running shirt for me!!
Agree. I’d skip the SRM on the P4 and go with a PT disc in back. The frame would look great with the new Zipp crank or a SRAM red with the TT rings. The P4 is a simplistic frame that deserves simplistic treatment…
BTW, there is nothing “simplistic” about the innovation and engineering (I don’t want to get mauled by the Cevelo-heads here).
