Criteria is that they must have recorded an album with those members, and those members must have recorded with the artist(s) included.
Example:

Them Crooked Vultures
Artists/bands in his tree:
QOTSA:
via Mark Lanigan: Screaming Trees, Mad Season, Nirvana
via Dave Grohl: Nirvana, Foo Fighters
via Troy Van Leeuwen: A Perfect Circle
Them Crooked Vultures:
via John Paul Jones: Led Zepplin
Josh Homme’s tally:
Kyuss, QOTSA, TCV, Screaming Trees, Mad Season, Nirvana, Foo FIghters, A Perfect Circle, Led Zepplin
There are probably hundreds of artists with more elite pedigrees (the list for Miles Davis must be mind boggling). For Gen X rock fans, this is pretty solid.
Ok, I’ll start with my Zappa reference (and I’m doing this off the top of my head, so bear with me)
Frank Zappa had a band, but he would change players a LOT
He had guitar player Adrian Belew, who played with King Crimson, Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, David Bowie
Also on guitar (at another time) he had Steve Vai, who would play with Whitesnake, David Lee Roth, and Public Image, LTD (Johnny Rotten’s post-Pistols band)
Warren Cuccorilo played with Frank, then he was in Missing Persons with FZ drummer Terry Bozzio (who also played with Jeff Beck) and on to Duran Duran
And that just the guitar players that come to mind LOL
