Some Bike Porn for you guys

where do you live that you can ride outside at 5am? I am trying to get 2 hours in before work, so end up riding on the trainer, as it is still dark as death when I start. And from where I live, it isn’t reasonable to ride until light, then go outside, if I want a remotely functional ride. I’d have to drive somewhere to ride, or else race stoplight to stoplight. Just wondering where you can ride at 5.

sweet…dude…sweet…dude…swwwwweeeet…duuuuude

Those wheels are killer looking! How is the stem adjustable, just up and down, or length too?

That bike is gorgeous.

Please tell me that light will come off when you start racing.

of course the light comes off when racing
.

I live in Brooklyn, during the week, I ride in Central Park, takes me 24 minutes to get into the park, doesnt get light out really unit 6ish or so- the park opens to traffic at 7am, so I can get ~1.5 hrs before the cars get into the park (not counting getting to and from) there are allot of people out at that time. I HATE the trainer, I have both a computrainer and a Tacx Flow and only ride them when I absolutly have to.

it pivots just up and down, not much heaver than a standard stem, ~100g or so and just as stiff, no flex or slipping
.

someone indeed does make aero chainrings for compact cranks…you might want to wander over to
http://www.mdt-products.com/prices.pdf
and scroll down to section 620. They can customs make just about anything for you. Sticking closer to home (BC Canada in fact) you might want to check out http://www.cycle-dynamics.com/ fire them off an email and see if they can make something one off for you. Their cassettes are amazing.

Nice ride, very cool. Cool cat too:)

Very Nice!

I prefer bike porn from the 1970’s like the one this guy has:

.

MDT, over here, make solid rings for compact cranks and your choice of size as each is custom to your order.

That is a big gap between the rear wheel and the seat tube, are the drop outs not horizontal? Also what is the thicking behind that sudden taper of the downtube to the bottom bracket? I initially thought it might be to fiar in the bottle but it too sudden for that.

Pic of the dropouts and flair for you:

Thanks. Shame the dropouts do not allow fine tuning given the starting point. What about the explanation behind the flair.

Nice bike. What is that around the fork blades 2/3 of the way down?

Goofy rubber/plastic. They give it some fancy name and claim it makes it more comfy. Peter Reid don’t ride on it.

is is structural? or is it just wrapped around the fork?

I can’t say for sure, but it looks to be a little of both.
The rubber is wrapped around it, but it is flush with the rest of the fork. So I believe the fork (sorry, this is going to be tough to explain) actually dips in, the rubber gets wrapped around it, and then the carbon dips out again. Kinda like wrapping rubber around an hour glass I guess is the best way to put it.
I won’t go out and say it’s not safe (respect to Dan), but I’m going to keep my eye on the durability of the design. I know a couple people that have them, but I’m not going to buy one.

if it’s as you say, it does not appear to be a very functional or sensible design.

is the 48cm a 650 or 700?
