Solvang Century....anyone going?

I’ll be there… and hopefully the roads won’t be too torn up from the rains…

I’ll be there.

I’ll be there also.

maybe Dre’ will be out there on a fixie again??? 40x17

I’ll be there too. Will it be a no-no to show up with aerobars on my road bike? I would never ride on them in a pack, but should I not have them on at all?

Have you guys done this ride before? I’m looking for clothing recommendations. I’m sure layers of some kind makes the most sense, but I hate carrying extra clothes when I start peeling stuff off. Suggestions? Anyone see a weather report?

I’d love to know the answer to this as taking my clip on’s on and off is a huge hassle.

It’s supposed to be warm all weekend I believe.

I haven’t done that ride for a few years, but there were lots of people with aero bars on. Shouldn’t be a big deal. Layers of clothes are definitely the way to go. Long finger gloves, too. Used to be very cold in the morning, then warming up as the day went on. Have a great time. For me, maybe next year…

I have done this ride many. many times. I see recreational riders, triathletes, road-racers, etc… on the roads. So, you can ride with clip-ons… nobody really cares what you use… its not a race so ride whatever you want and have fun!!!

The first hour(or two) is fairly cold… low 40’s. I just tough it out and dress light… because, by about 9 or 10, it starts to warm-up. Then, the last 30 miles(foxen-canyon) usually gets hot.

I hate carrying layers of clothing too… I recommend full-fingered gloves, shoe-covers, beanie or ear-cover(under the helmet… of course), a vest, etc…

I just think of the hottie-thread and that keeps me warm

Bad news. 'Dre moved to Houston.

I’ll be there on my ‘blue bomb’ (an old Specialized Cirrus). (I didn’t want to do it on my bullhorns all day, and I didn’t want to change the bars on my SR TT7.)
