My True PS100 seems to have met an end. It has around 6 1/2 years of pretty steady use. My guess is somewhere around 7-8k miles. It has an electrical issue and probably also needs a new belt. A few repair folks have estimated that depending on what’s wrong, it could be $500-1000 to fix.
That leaves me not really wanting to dump a lot of money into an older treadmill. I’ve loved the True, and it worked perfectly for the entire time I’ve had it. In terms of replacement, I’d love another treadmill that could last that long without any issues.
I’m considering a bunch of options, but it seems that Sole has a pretty good reputation, especially with their long warranty on frame, motor and deck. I’m looking at the S77 and TT8, as they seem more sturdy than the folding versions. I’m also looking at other brands, including another True and low end Precor.
For those who have Sole treadmills, is the lower price worth it for what you get? I really don’t like the idea of integrated speakers and fan, as that’s just a problem waiting to break. Sell or don’t sell me on a Sole. Thanks!!!
Have the F80, love it. Had it for three seasons and put some serious hours over the winter, other than lubricating the deck, and some cleaning, it has been maintenance and trouble free. The fan is kind of useless, and it ramps up and down a bit slow, just give time during intervals to ramp up and down.
Don’t get the Peloton one. It kills babies apparently and it may or may not worship satan and be a democrat too. Jokes aside, notwithstanding that babies should not be playing around a treadmill when it’s running, it does have a questionable design. Don’t see the same flaw with the F80.
I have an F80 as well. As mentioned in many other threads, these Sole treadmills just plain work.
If you want bells and whistles that you will never use, combined with bad quality, then get one of the treadmills built by ICON (all the department store brands like Xterra, Norditrack, Proform, etc).

I just bought a NordicTrack 1750 so I’m glad it’s the Norditrack that’s dodgy. Close call!
We have the S77 for 7 years and it’s been great. Feels as solid as any gym model. The only problem I’ve had is a lose drive belt which was an easy fix. I never use the speaker or fan. Only negative is if you are doing intervals it is slower to change speeds than higher end brands but it’s a minor complaint.
Been running on my parents F80 for the last year. I’m pretty much the only user as my dad just does some walking on it sporadically. The deck broke with less than 500 miles on it just a few weeks ago. Sole is replacing the deck under warranty but it’s going to take a month for it to get here. Other than that, no issues.
Bought an F85 in Oct- LOVE IT
It may be slow on intervals- I’m slow on intervals so no big deal
New console looks really cool- I got the old one but I also have a TV set up so
I don’t watch anything on the console- built solid

Well, just pulled the trigger on the S77 - no need for the folding F85 version. Now I just need to get rid of a 300 pound clothes rack
I was tempted to go with the TT8, but I really don’t think I’d need the decline feature for the added cost. I also didn’t want to have to wrangle another 70 pounds of treadmill into my basement.
Good move. Just a heads up, the beast is heavy! I have the f80 and it was really hard moving it upstairs. If you are moving it downstairs, don’t be the guy at the top bending over awkwardly! Let your friend hold that end!

Wise move, it took 4 people (thank-you delivery driver again thank-you) to get the tt8 into our house and down the hall, it was not going up or down stairs.

Have $50 cash ready for when the delivery drivers arrive. If you are lucky and get a couple strong guys, they’ll likely be happy to take 5 minutes to bring it into the house for some quick cash.
Just bought a Sole F80 in January and had to wait until March for it to arrive. The local dealer said he’s been selling 4-5 a month over the last year as they are a hot commodity. So far I like the treadmill, seems to offer all I need.

Good idea!!! My wife is definitely not thrilled with having two treadmills, one of which isn’t working. I guess I’ll put it for free on Craigslist to see if anyone wants to put $ into it. I’d rather not have to pay to have it removed.
Nate, Several months later, how are you liking the Sole? Do you notice the slow time that it takes for it to adjust to increase in speed? (Seems like that was the major complaint from people on here.)
Anyone else have thoughts on this, or on the Nordictrack 1750 - I saw a post where someone said they were using that but now I can’t find it?
Also, any drawbacks to the folding (80-85) versus non-folding 77. I don’t think I need it to fold, but if there’s no difference maybe that would be a decent option.
In the market for a treadmill and so far I’m leaning towards Sole. Spouse would like the screen stuff, but I’m more minimalist when it comes to that.
