Sold: as new 2011 zipp maxx carbon clinchers (404f/808r)

I bought these wheels in December 2011 from a ST member. They were custom built for him in October 2011. I have never mounted them or even put a tire on them. They are in as new condition. With permission, I am reposting the previous ad and his old Ebay item number. I am selling for $1850 shipped using PP gift option. They are super rare… and the original seller says they are insanely fast due to the stiffness they provide. I would love to keep them… but need the money to purchase some other toys  Check the Ebay auction. Wheels will include skewers… but no cassette.

For Sale: 2011 custom built 404 / 808 MAX clinchers, by Zipp/SRAM sent directly to me. 24-spoke pattern on front and back. rated for powerful riders, and weight limit up to 275 lbs. in perfect working order. search on “110787414319” on ebay to see pictures, and further description. These are rare, have the latest 88/188 hub designs.

They are more durable than the 16 and 20 spoke designs. They won’t heat up on steep descents, and have superior braking power to the all-carbon FC versions, yet weigh only about 100gr more. They can be used to train and race on, and are only 2months old.

includes:

  • yr. 2011 wheels/rims - dimpled - shimano - 24 spoke pattern.
  • Zipp 88 fr and 188 rr hubs
  • stock black sram racing skewers and valve stems
  • sram rim tape

(does not include tires/cassette)

you can also email me for pictures.

I’m interested - can I email you with questions? My email is ereid@lakeshoreentertainment.com. Thanks in advance. Eric

I am also interested in this wheelset but I am unable to send you private messages as I am a new member. Let me know if they are still available.

Wheels are sold…

I just bought these (from a terrific seller, BTW) but after discussions with Zipp it seems that at my weight (155lbs), I will not benefit from the increased stiffness of these wheels. Of course, I should have spkoen with Zipp before pulling the trigger, but they are such a sweet set of genuinely all-purpose wheels - hard to find the 606 combo in this condition for this price - that I jumped on it. If you are interested, shoot me an email and we can see if we can work something out before I mount tires and ride them. Eric ereid@lakeshoreentertainment.com
