How did they lose that game… That should of been a sure win for them, but nooo they had to let Zidane score two goals in three minutes.
Also if Beckham had scored that penalty I’m 99% sure France wouldn’t of made that comeback.
It will be interesting to see how this group plays out. Hopefully England will see France again. Rooney’s performance was stellar, and over 90 min I thought England played very well. They just have had trouble coming through in big games lately. That’s too missed penalties in a row for Becks, I don’t suspect we will see more of those any time soon.
I don’t really blame Beckham though, Barthez is a great goalie and knows Beckhams style very well…
IMO…I agree if Becks converts France no longer has spirit and loses 2-0. It was well struck but by no means well placed, unlike Zidane.
England played back too much in 2nd half, conceding pressure. Although they were mostly resilient, you had to know the chance would come. I would like to see England play more freely and attack.
Owen was nonexistent, and Gerrard made an uncharacteristic mistake.

I was around a BUNCH of depressed people last night. We were very quiet after that game.
As an american who has no background in caring/watching about soccer whatsoever, it was awesome to watch the game in an irish pub (in france) with 50/50 support for both teams all around. The game was great but the fans are crazy!
