So I Looked at the Journolistas and the Politico.com "journalists" and

You folks remember Journolist, right? You know, the Listserv group of journalists, pundits and “opinion makers” what got busted going all in for Barack Obama back in 2008, and how they worked so hard to shape opinion for their favored Democrat candidate for president? They did a bang-up job with that piece 'o work, eh? Anyway, it seems Politico.com, the “news source” currently trying to do a hatchet job on Herman Cain, conservative black Republican and presidential candidate, now employs a number of them. Wasn’t Politico, when it started out, billing itself as some sort of “centrist” news reporting outfit? Seems that lasted about as long as it took for Barack Obama to take what was an average economic recession and make it much worse. Gotta make sure to eliminate from consideration anybody’d that appeal to independent-minded voters, right? Outside of their man Barack, of course.

Now, journalists being the travelin’ man gypsy (the Brits call 'em what, pikeys or sommat, right?) class that they are, the list above probably shows folks in one sort of journalistic “profession”/endeavor or another, but who have also worn out their welcomes at those places and moved on to other inviting environs. That’s just the nature of professional journalism nowadays, I suppose. Especially for issue advocacy journalism or “hey-I’m-just-pretending-to-be-fair-minded” journalism.

Yup. Vaguely sourced article with innuendo and filled with boojum and smoke. I wonder if the “reporters” that put their name to the Herman Cain article (Jonathan Martin, Maggie Haberman, Anna Palmer and Kenneth Vogel) would have done so if they’d been asked to do a similar piece, with no named sources, about Barack Obama? And, hey…would Politico even have run it if they had?

Jus’ wonderin’ is all…
