SmartTrainer for bike fitting

Hello everybody!

Looking for a trainer for my studio. Wanna bring service to new level.
Good looking, easier to control resistance through dedicated app etc.

Now I’m using cheapest trainer from Tacx.
Considering to buy Tacx Neo or Elite Drivo.
Anybody has them in use? Does they fit all wheel/frame/axle standards? Any issues?

Thanks for info!

The Tacx Bushido requires you to assemble it based on the wheel size of the bike you plan to ride on it. That’s the only Tacx trainer I’ve spent any time with, but that suggests the Tacx units won’t be the best option. I don’t have any experience with the Drivo.

I have been contemplating getting the Kinetic Road Machine Smart Control. I haven’t played with one yet, but currently use a Road Machine in the studio. It’s a solid trainer that fits pretty much anything out there, once you get a set of the thru-axle adapters. If the Kinetic app is any good, the Smart Control could work pretty well for what you want to do, I would think.

computrainer for regular bike
Wahoo Kickr for mtb and other bikes with thru axle.

The Cycleops hammer has its own IOS app and comes with thru axle adapters up to 148 boost spacing. Most other trainers will only go to 142.

Thanks to everybody.
Ordered Neo, will see how it performs…

Let it know what axle compatibility it comes with. Looks like it’s compatible with 130 and 135 quick release out of the box. With 10x135 and 10x142 through axle compatibility with adaptors available for aftermarket purchase. These adaptors however won’t be compatible with all frames.

Personally I’d buy the CycleOps Hammer for a fit studio if I was locked into a direct drive smart trainer. It has the widest range of axle compatibility and frame compatibility, and it’s that way straight out of the box. It’s the only one advertised as compatible with 12x148 ‘boost’ axle spacing.
