I’ve got the Stealth bar on the way. Would like to go with new brake levers at the same time. What is the smallest aero lever? (None of the descriptions seem to have any info on size.)
I have very small hands (6" from wrist to tip of longest fingers). I can’t get my hands around the Zipp brake levers that have now unless I twist my wrist.
If it matters, I’ll probably upgrade to the Omega X brakes at the same time, as well.
Do not get the Profile Design ABS levers. They are terrible and do not pull enough cable. I had them with my TriRig Omegas and the braking power was bad. I changed to Shimano Dura Ace levers and the problem went away. I have the Zipp Vuka Stealth bars, TriRig Omega X brakes, and Shimano Dura Ace brake levers
Zipp says it’s compatible with all plug-in levers. I’m guessing that this is because the Vision clamp-on levers are designed for a different diameter and won’t fit.
I know the 3Ts work on the Vuka Alumina. Email Zipp and they can probably tell you if the Vuka Stelth has the same OD on the end of the bullhorns.
An additional advantage of the camp-on levers is that they eliminate the need for the heavy expander.
Are you using the 3T pro levers? Have you had any problems with lateral movement of the levers, or pinching of skin (web between thumb and index) upon release? (both problems mentioned more than once in reviews)
Zipp confirmed OD of Alumina and Stealth is the same. How does the cable run on these? I can’t find install directions anywhere. Thanks
not sure what lateral movement you mean, they do rattle a bit side to side. no clue how you would pinch your hand. must take a special kind of person for that.
cable runs directly into basebar through the lever(out the back of lever) no exposed housing at bar end. I ran without any tape for a while, then decided some might be good when it finally got humid here
Yes, they do pinch when you release the levers if you are not careful (you learn to position your hand as you release them so this doesn’t happen). More of an annoyance than anything, never drew any blood. Doesn’t happen w/gloves.
