I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but that’s exactly what my photos will be too.
I wish I had my camera on my run this past Tuesday - the sunrise over Long Island Sound was absolutely unreal, like a Jimi Hendrix poster all purple & orange…
I’m in - now I just have to borrow a digital camera …
mp
That would probably get you in…
Wait until you see a typical day in my life where Anna Kournikova and Denise Richardson and I go shopping for Italian carbon monocoque bikes
devashish paul, this is perfect!
Tom, is the 15th official? What do you mean by “first round”; how many day in the life’s are we going to have to produce?
Hmmm, well, the actual Kodak contest I think specified a date or day upoin which the photos ahd to be taken.
Remember, this is supposed to be a simple project in essence: A snapshot into your world. It isn’t intended to be an elaborate documentary, just a series of quick snapshots showing you move through a typical day.
With camera phones, little digital cameras and the like it should be pretty easy.
This being a “triathlon lifestyle” forum, this will be a visual way to depict your nterpretation of what the lifestyle is.
Does that make any sense? Mybe I will do one tommorow and post it as an example, although I don’t want to “guide” this project too much.
Great idea Tom!!!
will try to participate. will be back from Dakar on the 13 so that will give me 1 day to find a digital camera and do it.
Too bad I dont have one here, you would love the pics!
Genius, Tom! I love the idea! I’ll take the assignment!
Love the idea TD and will try to get my “typical day” documented.
We had a “Day In The Life…” photographers in Kona one year when one of those books was being made. He took photos of one of our local biathlons but they didn’t made the editor’s cut.
Hopefully I’ll follow up soon with my submission. Would a pound of 100% Kona coffee and mac nuts sway the judge?
Wow, Dakar. I am totally jealous.
awesome!
Again, great idea. But how about a little flexibility on these things:
Instead of a “contest” (we get plenty of competition in the rest of our lives, no?), how about just a running thread with single shots showing what we are doing with our lives. People don’t have to worry about if their photo is “good enough” for a contest, just if their photo captures an interesting or representative slice of their daily lives.
And given that we have folks from all over the world with some pretty crazy schedules, how about if we don’t have to take them all on a single day, but just post them as we take them. If some folks want to participate more, then to make it a good sample of people on this forum, how about if each person can post, say, one photo per month?
Thoughts?
Well, I’m definately up for that. I guess I didn’t intend for the “contest” portion to really be competitive in nature, except with respect to cleverness and creativity- but certainly NOT technical merit.
In other words, I wager a person with a rudimentary phone camera would have a big edge in this just because of the ease and portability of the unit.
I’m shooting mine with a $200 digital point and shoot.
But yeah, I like your idea actually better since my primary objective was to get more people to include photos in their posts.
So yeah, let’s do that as well. More photos = better forum as far as I am concerned.
