Slipstream swim machine - anyone have any experience with it?

At a previous house we had built a pool with an Endless Pools Fastlane unit, and the whole family loved it. When we moved, the new house already had a pool and retrofitting a Fastlane unit to it is not possible because of the built-in cover system.

I recently saw an ad for the Slipstream Performance swim machine. In the past I’ve been pretty skeptical of these sorts of “portable” swim machines as they all seem to get poor reviews. I’m more encouraged by this one, given that the company is founded by the the same guy that founded Endless Pools. It’s clearly not as powerful as a Fastlane (top speed of 1:20/100y vs. 1:05/100y) but if it can actually put out a 1:20 pace in a usably wide stream that’s fast enough for me. It seems like this thing has only been out for a few months, so this is a long shot, but has anyone here had a chance to try one or purchased one? I’d love some feedback on it.

No feedback yet, but I just put an offer in on a house with a pool (fingers crossed), and if I get the house I’m planning on buying one. I’ve gotten a lot of their ads recently. Part of me thinks that based on the looks/design, it looks like it should do the job.

Luckily I don’t think I’ll ever be swimming sustained paces above 1:20 so I should be good.

Hi el_gato and IKnowEverything!

Checkout Slipstream reviews as several of the customer reviews are from triathletes: https://swimslipstream.com/pages/testimonials

Slipstream is starting to attend Ironman and Triathlete events with an above ground pool so you can try it at a future event. The remaining events for 2024 are IronMan Arizona (11/14-18) and Daytona, FL Clash (12/6-8th).

Here is a customer and Pro-Triathlete that was kind enough to post a video of Slipstream as well: David Guenthardt on Instagram: "Contact me when you’re ready for a demo! #slipstreamswimmachine #ironmantraining #triathlon #triathlontraining #lappool #endlesspool #swimtraining"

Hope this helps!
