Wondering if anyone uses a slide board for winter training and if they see any benefits. Looking for something other than the trainer and treadmill to do in my basement
I did when I was a speed-skater but I think general SBR is enough. I don’t really see it being specific to anything other than cycling.
If you enjoy doing it I don’t see how it could hurt as long as you don’t replace everything with it.
I used to when I was speed skating (in-line). You can make one really easily with a low friction surface like melamine or some types of Formica along with silicone spray lubricant. Or you could just do a lot of lunges.
Just start with short sessions and be careful about how you align your head, elbows, knees, and ankles.
Wool socks over shoes helped a lot too
