Ok, slowtwitchers. Any of you using skins brand of compression? Found the great deal on theclymb website and was thinking about ordering. Anyone have any reviews, I have had a hard time findings reviews online and hate to Pass up this great deal? Opinions please
Bump for no one uses this brand?
just saw your post. i have a pair of skins that i love, wear them all day after a hard morning workout. i also saw the deal on the climb and bought a pair for myself and a pair for my gf for around half price.
I wear the skins tri400 top/bottom for races. Dont have an opinion about compression. I do like the kit. Comfy. Pockets on the top fit tight so don’t poof out during the swim. The material between the legs has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Just good all around quality. Overpriced? Yes. But sometimes you just have make a choice.
thanks bonk…pulled the trigger on a pair of tights. I hope they are as nice as they appear. I am a newbie that is struggling with consistency in training. Signed up for my first 1/2 marathon and plan to crank up the running(By far my weakest event). I hope they help me recover to be ready for the next run day. Thanks for the comment.
been using their product a while…have used many compression products as a running specialty store p/t employee. The Skins stuff is some of my favorite…esp the tights. I just picked up 2 more pair off theclymb too. The calf sleeves are decent but there are better brands out there…but the tights/ 1/2 tights are awesome! Comfortable enough to sleep in and wake up feeling much better
I have been using skins for about 7 years. Hate to think how many I have had over the years. Their new(ish) 400 line is a huge step forward. I really struggle with some other brands (2xu) who make their pants a little too loose around the crotch, makes it a pain to run in.
Anyways.
I think they are very good quality, I wore them this year in a 12hr off road orietiering race where we were bushbashing through nettles, climbing over rocks etc (saved a lot of skin on my legs the skins) Regardless they held up very well with NO tears.
I would strongly recomend them!!

I have a different opinion on the new A400 line. I find the traditional Skins half-shorts offer better compression, offer more coverage across the hamstring region (right to the back-of-knee), breath better, and overall fit better compared to the A400 shorts. I had to order a full size larger with the A400 series. The material (on the A400’s) is a bit thinker but I think that is why they don’t fit/compress as well. Don’t get me wrong, the A400 series are still decent compression shorts but IMO are inferior to the traditional Half-shorts.
I have the older tights and the new A400s. The A400s don’t feel as compressive, but they allegedly have a more sophisticated pattern that performs better. They are also more comfortable because they are not quite as hot, and they have a fly built in.
I definitely notice a small improvement in recovery if I wear them after a hard effort–particularly if I have to travel or be on my feet after afterwards.
