Anyone know how or where to look up serial numbers for Pinarello frameset?

Looking at buying a frameset and trying to find out how to look up serial numbers to determine if it is legit frame.

I would call any dealer. Ask what the pattern is for the serial nimber in the type of frame. Like does it have two numbers then a letter ect. Should be standard. Why do you think it could be a fake frame?
