I have not used a Silca pump in several years but I did retrofit a Blackburn pump with the Topeak smarthead/hose without any problems. The ‘kit’ includes head, hose, and several different types of fittings that screw into the pump base but if you order online, you might fire off an email or call to ensure compatibility before making the purchase!

LarryCalifornia,
This smarthead/hose looks almost identical to the “smarthead” hose that came on my blackburn pump. It would rip out almost every other presta valve it was put on. Blackburn was pretty good about replacing it with the “old style” hose that they went back to. Evidently I wasn’t the only customer that was extremely dissatisfied with the “smarthead” style pump head.
I always just use the crack pipe on all my wheels on my Super Pista…what is with all the fancy heads? Never ever had any issues (other than I need to hold the head on the valve and pump one handed…but my right hand is really strong from other activities).

Some friends of mine where having a similar problem because they would pump up the tube, close the release lever, and the pull the pump head straight off the valve stem. ABout 1 in 6 times, this would cause the valve stem to be unseated and the tire would go flat pretty quick. We have not had this problem partly due to the fact that we use tubes with non-threaded, 60mm valve stems for our wheelsets (all of which are at least 27mm or deeper rims) but mainly because we twist the smarthead left 7 right before pulling it off of the valve stem!

excelsports.com has everything you need silca. I just bought some new gaskets from them for like a buck 29.
ms6073,
You may be onto something. All my valves were threaded. Was using Mavic Open Pro rims. It was awful expensive real fast. Just pumping up quick for a group ride meant allowing enough time to change up to 2 tubes. What a drag!!! Nothing “quick” about that.
Yup. It’ll work. I have a Topeak smart head on my Silca Track pump. Works like a charm.
