Silca Adaptors and CO2 inflators

Hi,

I seem to do ok (with only two hands) when I have to use a floor/mini pump with a crack pipe (Silca disc wheel adapter) to inflate my tri spokes and disc. It is another issue, though, when this needs to be done with a CO2 inflator. I’ve tested this successfully once in the comfort of my living room. I am a bit concerned that should I have a puncture on the road with temperatures here in the 40s (F) I won’t be as successful with frozen fingers and all that.

Does someone know of any crack pipe friendly CO2 inflator? Or, in general, it would be greatly appreciated if you share your experiences with using Silca adaptors and CO2 inflators.

Nick.

I deleted the picture, but the link further down in the thread still works.

Excellent. Exactly what I was looking for. Found it off of a British mail order company for GBP 6 (CHF 14.30 EUR 9)

Many thanks, Simon.

Nick.

Hello All,

Performance Bike sells a new inflation CO2 unit (Inovations Air Chuck SL) that works by pushing to inflate/lifting to stop inflation - after activation of the CO2 cartridge and can easily be used with one hand.

I tried it on a flat and it worked very well.

I think it was $15.95 with one cart on sale. It is also 1 gram lighter than the old twist/untwist inflator.

I am still looking for Vittoria Pit Stop in San Diego area. If it works OK that will be a great solution to a quick flat fix.

Cheers,

Neal

Also my fave, but definitely not new. I’ve been using them for a couple of years now.

agreed…the Air Chuck works awesome but has been out for a couple of years. If I remember though, it didn’t fit a n older Zipp Disc I tried it with.

As far as the PitStop stuff…has anyone successfully used it on a HED3? It seems to fit ok if you angle the valve stem out a little , but I don’t know if it will actually work.
