Sidi vs. Shimano shoe sizing

I can look at charts all day long, but I wanted to hear from real world users. My 44’s in Sidi are a shade too big, but a 43 in a Shimano is still slightly big, not sure if a 42.5 would be too small and since my LBS is one of those ‘oh but we can order it for you’ places I can’t try on a 42.5, 43, 43.5 or even a frickin’ 44.

I’m looking at some 42.5 Sidis…ideas or thoughts? I like my shoes snugly tight, no play or float inside.

Shimano’s run long and they’re an average width shoe. I wear a 46 in everything but Shimano, which I wear a 45 or 45.5 in. I had some R132’s, but they were too narrow.

I’m a 45.5 in Sidi, and 44.5 in Shimano…

You feel Sidi runs a full size different? My TR-50’s in a 43 could have been a bit smaller if I had my choice…a 42.5 Sidi might just fit the bill.

Yup, but it could also have to do with the model. I use the Shimano road shoes, R215’s. Maybe they fit a bit different than the triathlon models.

I wear 43.5 in both Sidi and Shimano
.

Going down 1.5 sizes seems like a lot, but then again the 44’s Sidi’s are just too darn big. I wish my frickin’ LBS would stock more than 3 sizes. Maybe 15 pairs of Sidis in the entire shop for road/MTN/tri between mens and womens.

Might be internet ordering time.

Currently riding shimano. size 48
Just sold my Sidi’s… 47

I guess at my end of the size chart Shimano runs small.

I have to special order shoes all the time. Just order a few pair, in the sizes you want (huge cost to you) then return the ones that don’t fit (get all but shipping back) getting the right size to me is worth the shipping cost. Problem is that you’ll need a few grand in CC room with the cost of cycling shoes.
