SIDI T2 carbon VS SIDI T3 carbon

can anyone tell me what the big differences are on the SIDI T2 and T3 carbon tri shoes? Thank you

T1?

(sorry, that was incredibly useless.)

From their literature, it mostly appears to be the sole that’s somewhat lighter than the previous one.

Different sole that is lighter…

Speedplay direct option mount is possible… 4-hole rather than 3-hole…

Very similar upper as before

If anyone needs a pair of EU48 (size 13), send me a not. I have the Speedplay direct mount model available for sale as I prefer to use my old looks

I hope the difference is stainless steel hardware in the soles as my T2’s lasted 2 seasons until the cleat mounting holes (for want of a better word!) totally rusted out and I had to throw the shoes out.
They were washed in fresh water religiously the afternoon of every race and dried thoroughly before being put away.

Have now bought cheap tri shoes from wiggle that even is they only last 1 season would be cheaper than the Sidi’s per season.

Oops, I thought you wanted a comparison with an old version, not with the current.

One additional difference not mentioned here seems to be the sole which has drain holes

Think I had a similar issue as you with my T-1’s. Thought they were totally lost b/c screws of cleats were rusted completely to the threaded holes in the shoe. Looked on the Sidi website for repair information (they could be) but needed the replacement threaded holes. E-mailed the company and got a new set (nice customer service). Shoes work great now.

Are your sidi’s still available for purchase? How much mileage have they seen/what kind of shape are they in? Whats your asking price? Thanks.

How often are you guys replacing cleats, or are the cleats coming off because the receiving sleeve for the screws is failing? I’ve had the same pair of T-2s for years, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the screws/mounting holes were rusted but I have no reason to check/notice/care. I guess it may also be a function of what type of cleats, since with my Speedplays I can replace the cleat itself without doing anything to the 3-hole adapter plate that screws into the sole.

Did grease the screws prior to installing the cleat? I have had no issues and replace my cleat every 6 months. You must grease the screws!

When I asked them, the T2 has more flex than the T3 which has more flex than the T3.6. The old T2.6 has the same sole as the T3.6. Color, vents and some other stuff is different as well, but the sole flex is the main (important) difference.

The cleat nuts in Sidi shoe soles are totally replaceable.
You threw away the baby with the bath water.

Yes screws were greased when first installed, but not after that.

Not really, they were starting to fall apart anyway, so I wasnt totally devestated, but I think I could have got at least another season out of them.
Will know for future reference!

what type of grease do you use??/ didn’t realize I had to grease them…oops
