I have had problems with my SI joint for years And mOst of the time it goes back in on its own. slipped out last week went to the chiropractor twice and he was unable to fix it and starting having shooting pains down the front of my leg. went to the PT yesterday and he thinks its is pinched nerveI. I’ve been doing the exercises he prescribed but its not gotten better. I can sit and lay without any pain but as soon as I stand up or walk intense pain shoots for my hip down to my kneecap. tomorrow I’m scheduled for an xray to make sure there’s not a bone spur or something goofy going on.
anyone else had an experience with her SI joint causing a pinched nerve or extreme pain?
Google Don Tingy. His method might be helpful. His article describes how to self adjust anteriorly rotated SI joints.
Or you have torn ligaments if it popping in and out.
2 rounds of Platelets fixed mine.
SI dysfunction usually doesn’t refer pain down the front of the leg. Get the actual hip joint (the ball and socket) ruled out too.
agreed. why not see a real doctor? get examined, maybe ?
I’m also having SI joint pain right now… not a pinched nerve though, I do not think (I hope not. I don’t think I’m in that much pain).
Can you tell me what the prescribed exercises were?
As PTinAZ was saying, SIJ dysfunction doesn’t TYPICALLY give symptoms in ant quad region as that is femoral nerve distribution(upper lumbar), and SIJ issues follow sciatic n (posterior). BUT an ant rotated ilium CAN cause fem n entrapment at the inguinal ligament resulting in ant quad region symptoms. First step to correcting an asymmetric pelvis is positively identifying which way it is “out.” Difficult to find professionals who are truly skilled at that.
