Shreddies is the world's best cereal

I have never seen that cereal

Its an homage to his British overlords. Shreddies and Shredded Wheat are very popular in GB.

Neither of which hold a candle to Weetabix.

This thread just made me realise I haven’t eaten cereal in over 10 years.

I’ve only had Weetabix once and it quickly turned to a mush when I added milk. What am I missing?

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Weetabix (2, preferably 3), milk and sugar… give it a minute for the milk to soak in then mash that stuff together.

Enjoy!

It’s not “Life”. Life is crap.

ok A little more hefty than Life.

Chex.

No, Chex is Chex.

Shreddies is not Chex.

It looks a lot like what we in the States call Wheat Chex. I’ve never seen Shreddies in the New England states but I eat Wheat Chex regularly.

Most of these cereals look like horse feed.

Most of these cereals look like horse feed.

You look like horse feed.

Especially with brown sugar.

Come at me.

You need to add sugar because there’s only 9g of sugar in a 55g serving.

That’s about a quarter of the amount ant respectable breakfast cereal would have.

Anyone remember PacMan cereal? Those rock hard ‘marshmallows’?

Fruity pebbles! Only about 2 bowls per box though. After that Frosted Flakes, frosted mini wheats, smacks, Frosted Flakes w marshmallows. Banana nut cereal if they still make it is good. Never seen Shreddies in the states🤷🏼‍♂️

You win. good good whole wheat shreddies! Well except for all that liquid invert sugar. Whatever that is don’t worry about it.

Especially with brown sugar.

Come at me.

the only thing that “might” be better, and I cannot confirm because I haven’t actually had it yet, is “Frosted Flakes Lucky Charms”. aka sugar coated sugar bombs with pieces of sugar.

No. Wife bought some by accident. Wrong combination. Lucky Charms = good. Frosted Flakes = they’re gggrrrrreat! Frosted Flakes Lucky Charms - they sssuuuuuck.

Shreddies look like Wheat Chex. Wheat Chex < Corn Chex < Rice Chex.

Cap’n Crunch with Crunch Berries /thread

Shreddies, Rice Krispies and Cheerios have always been my favourite cereals. I’ll switch between them regularly and currently have Shreddies.

Only evil people hate Shreddies. I’ve never seen a picture of Hitler eating them, just sayin…

This thread makes me sad. We’re two pages in, and nobody has mentioned the two most perfect cereals–Raisin Bran and Grape Nuts. They’re both pretty high in fiber. Plus I can eat a small bowl of Grape Nuts and feel like I’ve eaten a full meal. Good stuff.

They’re obviously healthier than all of the sugar cereals mentioned, and I’d think better than Shreddies. But apparently I’ll never know because Blep contends that there is no US market equivalent.

Damn, I thought Euell Gibbons died 40 or 50 years ago.

Have you had grape nuts on chocolate ice cream? So good!!

Raisin Bran is a soggy mess. Grape nuts make no sense.

Cheerios or Honey Nut Cheerios. Most of the other offerings are either twigs in a bowl, or breakfast candy.

Shreddies is not twigs in a bowl.

Honey nut cheerios is probably number two on my list.

In the “Breakfast Candy” category, I’ll go with Cap’n Crunch.

I refuse to eat them until they bring back Diamond Shreddies. Those were way better.

You’re an idiot. Squares are so much better than diamonds.

Diamonds are forever. Diamonds are a girls best friend. Lucy in the sky with Diamonds.

Who’s on your side? Huey Lewis? Pass. Diamonds rule, squares drool.
