I am thinking of building a portable waxing table that I can bring with me in my car. I split my workweek between two different locations and need to be able to bring this wax table with me. I am also hauling my bike and trainer so this wax table can’t be too big. Someone might suggest to just bring the vises but that won’t work as I have nothing to mount them to. Anyone in similar situation? Any ideas? Pics?
I just use a swix bench and a couple of quick clamps to clamp the bench to my table at the cabin. A little cardboard underneath can really help with clean up.
I also carry 2 sets of skis with me everywhere I go. That allows me to match my most common conditions. One is waxed with Swix Blue and one with Swix Green. I rarely wax more than once a week with this set-up.
Buy one. Swix make some that are good, and Artech has one that looks awesome (and pricier). The key of the ones you build is that the legs go out and make the table really stable.
My homemade waxing table for the longest time was a folding ironing board onto which I had bolted a plank of melamined wood. Very cheap and easy to make ans use. But it wasn’t the stablest thing out there, and eventually I drove the legs in…

Vauhti make a nice profile/bench as well. Very stable, very compact. I bought my Swix “Team” table & profiles before I had seen or heard of the Vauhti and the Vauhti is nicer. Lighter, more compact, and faster/easier to set up and take down. I got mine at a pretty good price so I’m not complaining, but the Vauhti is a nicer option. I’ll have to look up the Artech…

Any idea where to find one. Either my google skills totally suck or they are hard to find. The Vauhti website is not of any help either.
the most compact way to have everything you need is to buy a swix model T0793 lightweight aluminum profile and fit it with some model T0079-1 folding legs and you are good to go. Get a T0775-1 bag to put it all in and you won’t lose anything in your car.
