Should I get a one or two piece wetsuit?

I’m researching options for my first ever tri wetsuit. Should I get a one or two piece? I’m 5’9", 170lbs with broad chest and shoulders. Is there a certain brand that fits my body type better? It seems it would be easier to get a good fit with a two piece because you can get different sizes for top and bottom. I also heard a two piece is easier to get out of.

It’s best to take the time, to try and a few suits from different companies and see which one fits the best. Find a shop that offers a range of suits from different suppliers, and that has sales staff that know how to size you up and then fit you to the suit.

I’ve had a 1 piece wetsuit for a few years and then got a De Soto 2 piece. I have no plans to ever go back to a 1 piece. Do a search on the forum for De Soto wetsuits and you will see why.

I did a forum search on De Soto. Very impressive comments. I was actually looking into the T1 pretty closely, all the positive comments on the T1 and De Soto as a company have convinced me this may be my wetsuit.

I have the DeSoto two piece as well. I have shoulder problems. Rotator cuff surgery 21 years ago after dislocating 13 times. Absolutely no problems with the wetsuit and my shoulder. I am a customer for life.

I have the T1. Love it. High floatation in the legs, easy off in T1, and I have both a sleeved and sleeveless top making it two wetsuits in one. No velcro on the neck either which is nice.
