I swear every damn shirt I get nowadays chafes my nips.
My race shirts are that awful waffle pattern. Once wet from sweat or rain - ouch.
Can someone suggest a shirt that doesn’t chafe?
I have some Nike shirts that are a smoother material that work and I like the Asic shirts. All are a few years old so I don’t know if the current materials are the same.
I got into the technical Ts for a while but am now back to Cotton and Bamboo for this reason. Wicking shirts work too well and keep rubbing past you no matter how much you sweat. Cotton gets wet and sticks to you and if you don’t mind that (I don’t in the slightest), you don’t get any chaffing.
Bodyglide yo’ nips.
Tighter the better! or Band-aids on nipples… i prefer spongebob brand.
3M/Nexcare Transpore tape. That’s the medical name they sell it at CVS and Walgreens, tears easy by hand and stays on for any distance. $4 a roll or so. I just put it on for any distance and never worry about chafing.
UnderArmour HeatGear (the skin tight ones). Cooler than Tees and don’t chafe.
Wear a lightweight, tight shirt, with full length zipper. Then unzip that sucker past your belly button. No Contact = No Chafing.
x2 Body Glide. Every run, no exceptions. No nip problems.
I’ve used two smooth tech shirts I got from races (urban epic in portland a few years ago and timberman last year). Haven’t had any problems. The other type of tech shirts are awful though.

Lose the waffle pattern. Ouch. Try the Men’s 2XU Comp Tri Singlet. I’ve had good success with it. It will be very tight but you will not notice it in action. You can also swim in it. other brands like craft are good too. I like the coverage of the 2XU top. I’ve worn it in three 70.3s an ironman and many sprints.

It is by far the best that I have ever used. It stays on forever (including in water) and completely eliminates any chaffing.
