You’ll either need to buy a bike travel case and need to know how to dismantle and re-assemble your bike or take to a local bike shop to pack it up for you…usually in a cardboard bike box. I would recommend the bike case investment if you plan to do this a few times. If this a 1x deal…then use a well-packed cardboard box. Then you’ll need to have a lbs close to race site assemble it for you…again if you can’t do yourself. Typically, they might charge $35-50 for the packing/unpacking service…each time. I have used FedX many times to ship my bike with no problems…have shipped to hotel and I assemble it in the room. FedX, though can be expensive if you don’t have a discounted rate…like through your company. The previously mentioned “bikeflights” is one service that will give you a discounted rate…another is “shipbikes.com”. Check out their websites for rates and call them…they’ll give you the details…compare…decide. Good luck.
I used Federal Express ground to ship my tri bike to CA. Not only did they ruin my bike, have it arrive late, they charged different amount each direction. They did honor my claim and pay for a new frame and moving parts to new frame.
My bike was packed in a Thule hard case.
