Can any one tell me how to differentiate between Shimano 105 5600 and the newer version 5700? How far back does the 5600 version date. I am building up an old 2008 frameset and I currently ride a 2004 Cervelo with 105/Ultegra mix. I’m not sure what version 105 I have. The crankset is an Ultegra “Octalink”. I was thinking of going with 105 version 5600 all the way around because I can fins it a whole lot cheaper on ebay. Will this be any sort of upgrade for me do you think I’m piss poor by the way so don’t even raise the bill on me. If you don’t have then you don’t have it. I have been happy with my 2004 version of 105. I’m not racing even if I was I have no chance of winning anything. Any thoughts. Thanks.
