Shaving hair under arms

I’m a guy who regularly waxes or shaves my legs but of late I have seen several guys at the masters squad that are also doing their under arms and also chests.

I just don’t get why you’d do your under arms.

Anyone here do it care to explain why?

Hi,

No clue, but sometimes the “Manscaping” becomes a slippery, addictive slope.

The legs spread to stomach, to chest and so on.

Under arm trimming can help to reduce some chafing…but sometimes it is grooming gone wild.

Look, it grows back…it is better w/o than with (totally IMO)

So no harm done.

I shave everything else…might as well do the pits too
.

If you shave everything, let’s just say it will pay you dividends in your non-tri sports. Smooth on smooth feels pretty darn good, IMO!

It is a slippery slope…

Started with legs, then chest and yes I do now shave the armpits. I don’t know I just don’t like hairiness anymore!

I do not shave my chest nor arms and never will… I do not really have hair on my chest yet. Thank goodness…
I do shave under my arms and legs, why? Because I like the way it feels and I feel cleaner.

I’ve never heard a complaint from the womens. Skin on skin is quite nice. They might think its a bit weird at first but they get over it quite quickly.

It’s MUCH faster when swimming.

ok, maybe not MUCH…but I’d venture a guess that losing your armpit hair by itself makes more difference than going from briefs to the LZR speed suit.

I’ve never had hair under my arms.

WHen I was 12, I went on a Mtn bike ride with some friends that were a bit older. We stopped on a bridge and took a rest and I started to see all the nasty, sweaty, dirt and deodorant filled hair sticking out from under their pits. Then, the guy right next to me tipped his head back and raised his bottle to take a big swig. I got a full view of his nasty underarm and that was it for me. I had just a few “sprouts” under my armpit but I shaved those off as soon as I got home and still shave my pits to this day.

When a triathlete crosses the line and raises his arms in the full victory pose, all I can see is his nasty armpit hair. The worst is when they put it on the cover of a mag. Yuck

“Because I like the way it feels and I feel cleaner.”

But sometimes, doesn’t it feel f****ng good to be downright dirty?!!?!

I’d love to shave chest & pits too, but I’m scared of itchyness & stubble - Legs are bad enough! is it a case of do it once and there’s no turning back??

Less stinky? Less gross looking?
I mean some people have hair there longer than I ever had on my head. Sometimes I feel like lighting a match and watch how it will turn into a bonfire.

And not to forget the my. blowdryer at the gym! he blowdries his pubes and armpits!

Depends on the person. If I shave my chest more than once, I get nasty razor burn and ingrown hairs. So I take it down with trimmers, but no razor. The pits are fine. Once in a while I get an ingrown, but its no big deal.

I know other guys who shave their entire body every day and they never have ingrown or burn. Just the way the hair grows I guess.

Give it a try and see how it works out for you.

Sometimes I’m happy to be older…

I started shaving my pits in high school (about the same time as Madonna was in Playboy with arm pit hair). I have never allowed hair to grow there since.

I contend that no person, ever, male or female, gay or straight, has ever looked at arm pit hair and said “yum yum, I gotta get me some”.

I get some weird chaffing if I use a razor so I use bare clippers.
It works great and deodorants are way more effective and besides…
pit hair just plain looks nasty.

Thats a ton of work. They shave in the winter as well? Man, no way I could keep that up year round.

I’m with you and I’m happy that I am a cave man!!!

Ditto, I’ve never understood this.

So to the daily entire body shavers here, do you just leave the back hair? If there is any, assuming you can’t reach it. I’m just picturing some completely bare chested guy with a back like a grizzly bear. That’d get you some looks at the pool I bet.
