Thanks rroof, was hoping you’d reply… but I hope you’re wrong. I don’t think that it’s Baxter’s from my initial net reading, apparently it’s a bitch to diagnose correctly too. some scary surgical pics were among the first things to pop up.
Tribri - if you see this, I ride Look pedals. Total coincidence, but the day after my ride I scored new cleats on sale and put 'em on, altho the old ones weren’t super worn. Taking at least another day or two off tho. swim, swim, swim for now
My think-positive-mental-spin theory at the moment is it’s related to the fact I’d been doing a lot of standing climbing, and really working the upstroke - making very noticeable the gap I get between the topside my foot and the inside/top of the shoe on the down stroke, and then lifting off the sole and slamming the top of my foot up against the top shoe on the up.
What do worn speedplay cleats have to do with achilles problems? The catch/spring mechanism doesn’t change position or orientation relative to the foot just because the outside of the cleat is old…
Playing the odds game, you have a little posterior achilles irritation from your shoe counter. Good to read about Baxter’s to make sure though You are right, it is a bitch to diagnosis correctly and most physicians don’t even know what it is :0
