Well I’m going for D and E, but I’ve been married for 19 year today! All of you (men) that have been hitched as long as I have know what I’m talk’n about! Ha ha ha
To a point it increases. You feel better and you know you look better so you are more comfortable in your skin. When you feel good and your stress levels are moderated then sex drive seems to increase substantially. That is only natural- when all is well your hard-wired circuit board is sending coded messages to try to increase the species.
As you get close to a big event, like Ironman, where there is a necessity to really pile on the miles and you are perpetually fatigued from training and your crotch is cooked from being on the bike sex, at least vigorous sex, isn’t that appealing. The it’s more like, “Hop on, ride me for a few minutes, then hop off and I’ll roll over and fall asleep…”
In any event, it is good for you in the context of a healthy relationship and I think it helps you sleep better.
You mustn’t have married the right type of woman. It only gets better with age and I’m going on 10yrs. of marriage. Of course, I am a redhead! I’ll take A for my answer.
A buddy and I discussed this on a long ride a while back. He and I both agreed that the sensation of sex decreased somewhat (at least for us males) as training levels increased. However, my gf and his random girl of the week both seemed to like the fact that we would go on forever (at least for 20-something males) since (a) it’s a better workout that way (insert scene form American Pyscho) and (b) our crotches were so numb from the increased saddle time that it took a bit longer than normal to…well ya know.
Let me be the first 20 year old to publicly announce that after 100 miles(used to be solely a runner) of running in a week, sex is literally the last thing on my mind. However, if I’m just doing some average training it goes higher and higher on the list of wants.
