Selle San Marco Saddle defect

I already emailed the company about this. But has anyone had any experience with a defective saddle (more specifically from this company)? I have/had a aspide tri gel saddle that curiously had the titanium rail simply crack the other day. I didn’t really notice it because it is still “rideable” but I’m worried about complete breakage and a seatpost up the rear end. Anyway, anyone know how they handle warranty issues like this. I don’t have the receipt anymore and I"m not going to ask the shop to “create” a reciept for me. Am I screwed…?

While I’m at it, any saddle suggestions?

I broke an Azoto during IMFL last year. SSM has a “replacement rail program” in lieu of an actual warranty. Send it overseas with $30 and in 6-8 weeks you might have it back fixed. “That’s better than scrapping the whole seat”… that’s what they told me. That’s great except that you have to get another seat anyway while yours is in Italy on vacation. Mine is still sitting in the garage somewhere with cracked rails.

thanks. I already orderd another, but maybe I can get it back and ebay it. thanks

The TI rails on my Azoto broke while on a training ride. I was basically told the same thing by the Importer in Ft Collins, CO. Because it was more than a year old, my only option was to send it back to Italy to have new rails put on. I find it hard to accecpt that on a Time-trial only rig a saddle would break. It was effectively less than a season old, with, IMO, easy usage. I still have saddles that are 10 - 15 years old with thousands of miles on them that are still rideable.

I’m finished with San Marco saddles, and purchased something else.
