I’m considering a new saddle, and this one looks comfy - anyone tried it out yet?
I have used it and it is a very good saddle. I thought, for some people, it may be a better alternative to the Azoto Triathlon. My current favorite is the Fizik Arione. Very nice.

my own experience is that the sleeker and cooler they look, the less well they’ll work at supporting my sensitive areas. what you want is a sleek, cool bike and a fat bulky saddle nose… if you’re like me.
i prefer the azoto triathgel, it’s bigger, fatter cousin, with a QR or de soto seat pad over the top of all of it.
Great info - just what I was looking for - thanks! I’ll definitely check out the Azoto.
I’ve got the Aspide Tri Gel and I love it. Very comfortable and very light.
I’ve ridden both of them and personally like the aspide. I ride a little further back on the saddle and found that the Azoto was too wide. The narrower saddle just worked a little better for me. If you ride on frequently up on the nose of the saddle, the azoto may be the way to go. It is wider and has more padding in the nose.

I’ve used both the Aspide and Azoto. I love them but I keep breaking them. I’ve broken one of each. I’m just riding along and hear a nice load “snap”. When I get home I tear the whole bike apart looking for a problem, and this includes the bottom bracket and the hubs!! The last thing I check is the seat rails. Low and behold, in BOTH cases the titanium seat rails are snapped clean in half!
Selle San marco replaced the first seat without a problem. A few days later I had a new seat sent from Italy. The second one results in emails that are not answered and good luck on the telephone with Italians that don’t speak Englsh and me not speaking Italian. So I fork out the big bucks for a replacement out of my pocket.
BTW - after the first one they stated that the rails on the Azoto are not as strong os the Aspide. Did me no good anyway, I broke that one too!
I’m a big lad and I’ve been using one for 6 months for both tri and tting and love it. Get one…
UKGM,
Which one have you been using, the Azoto or the Aspide?
The aspide. I find it excellent although from everyone else that i know that uses one you need some minor experimentation to find the right angle (I set mine by setting the padded nose area level).
got one last year - rode it with NO discomfort. had a QR pad on the old saddle and was still uncomfortable riding long in the aero-position. best saddle I’ve ever ridden, hands down. But, ya gotta find a saddle that fits “you”
