Seems like Lance might not compete in the Tour

Talk about a witch-hunt. Even if you don’t like Lance, you gotta admit, that’s just b.s.

total B.S.

this was what, his 24th drug control so far since he announced his comeback?? And he somehow forgot the rules or would foolishly jeopardize his status this time??

This whole thing smells fishy.

I would call it interesting, not enough info to call it b.s. at this point.

I have to agree that this is total BS. I’m sure the top riders have a very tough time dealing with crazy fans, crazy media people, etc. Yet they’re supposed to just open a vein for every Joe Blow who shows up in their driveway? This really does sound like a witch hunt.
.

was it the first time they asked for hair?

maybe he had to go call dr ferrari and see if that was safe?

why don’t the French authorities just ban all non-french cyclists to compete within France so a French man can win the Tour?

why don’t the French authorities just ban all non-french cyclists to compete within France so a French man can win the Tour?

if a french guy could manage to win some stages with regularity they would probably have some french doping scandals too

Why would Lance need to go shower?

I mean, it doesnt matter where you are. If you coming back forma bike ride, coming back from dinner with the wife. When the drug controllers ask for a sample, you gotta give them a sample. I realize he had Johan with the drug controller, but I think it was an absolutely dumb move on Lance to go out of sight and take a shower. It just kinda brings up more trouble than its worth. I mean if Lance and Johan were in contact with UCI to determine if the controller was legit, thats great, but Lance is just kinda bringing it on himself on this.

I get it, he was probaly coming back from a workout, but if the rules state, you cant leave the vision or sight of the controller, why even bring any type of controversy in. I first read where Lance asked to shower and got it ok’d by the controller (or atleast Lance’s version of the truth) and I just started laughing thinking, “well here comes some trouble”.

I mean who gives a shit if your hot and sweaty, just give them a pee sample, or hair sample or whatever sample they need and be done with it. I just think in this instance, Lance brought more trouble on himself than if he would have just been able to verify the controller and given an sample.

You’re assuming that it was perfectly clear at that moment that this guy was a legitimate tester. According to Lance and Johan, it wasn’t quite so clear…for various reasons.

That changes a lot of things…

Even if you don’t like Lance

Lance is like the Beatles, it wasn’t so much the Beatles, but the Fanatics who overdue it. They weren’t that great or that bad.

Talk about a witch-hunt

That’s been the state of things for quite some time. Rasmussen broke the rules too, - So far though, - I agree with you, (unless some new info comes out), - it looks like they’re being waay unreasonable. (Rasmussen: probably was doing something very wrong. Because they know it’s a witch hunt, they should’ve been more careful). FWIW

Seems like Lance might not compete in the Tour

not such a bad thing IMO. Don’t know how much of a factor he would be anyway, - especially since he’s been racing in other races. Which is great stuff IMO. Good to see him out there rubbing elbows and mixing it up. Not intended as any contradiction to you or your post, - but the Flanders race was a great one last weekend. And, - I think that we’d all have more fun if we started to disassociate the TDF with bike racing, and get psyched and pay attention to the other great races.

Oh come now…

that’s not even funny

If that were the case than why Lance ask if he could leave and go shower? I mean if they didnt know if this was a legit tester or not, why did Lance acknowledge him and ask him? I mean at that moment, Lance and Johan didnt think he was the authority and wanted to verify, yet Lance still assumed he was legit by asking to leave and shower?

If Lance and Johan were so clear on if this was a legit tester, Lance should have just went about his business, but when Lance even acknowledge that he “asks” the drug tester if he can go and shower, that to me tells me Lance atleast acknowledge this was a was a person in authority.

Like I said earlier, I just think Lance more or less has put this on himself. If he makes a few calls and gets verification and gives the sample, this is all a moot point.

It is as easy as staying in the room while the credentials get verified. Why disappear to take a shower???

So I’m not really wanting to go read through that whole thread. So what is the excuse of why Lance had to shower? I mean if he didnt think it was a legit agent, get on the phone, make phone calls and get it verified. But he got Johan to call while he showered? Doesnt make sense.

It’s really not that long of a thread…but, since you appear to not even be willing to just search on my posts, here you go:

Uh, I’m not sure about you guys, but I HATE sitting around in a jersey that has 5 hours of sweat in it!

Also, what could lance have done in the shower? Seriously?

Maybe he was in pain?

How many times has lance been approached by illigidimate testers?

On a side note I just finished a long ride and then went to In n Out then Performance bike… I didn’t shower immediately yet I am still ticking.
