Sedona Road Bike Rental?

I’ll be in Sedona during the third week of April, and would like to rent a road bike for a few days while there. This will be around 2 1/2 weeks out from an IM. I know timing isn’t great, but my family already had the trip planned, and then I decided to do add IM in early May.

I had a quick look online, and it looks like most bike shops in the Sedona area cater to mountain bikes. I’d also consider a gravel bike that could do a bit of off road riding as well as tarmac.

Thanks in advance if anyone knows of a shop in that area.

Absolute Bikes in the Village of Oak Creek is the most road bike friendly of the local shops. If I remember correctly, they have some Specialized Roubaix available for rental.

If you’re interested, you can join our local group rides on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays. They are all no drop rides, usually 25 to 40 miles. Mix of stronger and slower riders.

Michael,

Thanks - I sent them a message asking about a rental for a few days.

How are the roads in general for road biking there? I’d probably be getting out on the earlier side. We are staying near the intersection of 179 and 89A for a reference point.

My wife’s family lives in Sedona so I have been there a few times and the first time I did this ride linked. Coming from the Chicago area it was amazing since I have never been on a ride outside of a race where I did not have to stop every mile. The only issue I had with this ride is I think I took one wrong turn and I was on a dirt road for a little bit but it was not bad since the bike I rented had wider/thicker tires I got from Absolute Bikes. The next few times I went I ended up renting a mountain bike instead.
