I have a Cannondale Slice and bought the KP059 kit to mount water bottle cages to the seat post. Although they look great the first time I rode with that setup the right bottle come off 3-4 times - essentially once every 30 minutes. Not having any other options, I went to Performance and bought the grippiest cages I could find and used them for the Chicago ITU last weekend and sure enough one bottle came off on the first lap of the bike.
I used to use the Profile Aquarack and never had any problems but it won’t fit on my Slice.
Has anybody had success with the KP059 kit on a Slice? Something else??

What kind of cage are you using (that’s probably the issue)? The profile Kage works OK (launched bottles with it, but not often). When in doubt fork over the $$ for an X-lab Gorilla.

My wife has a Slice. Every time I contemplate putting a bottle cage on it like that, it just seems like the cage will be sitting way too low? I’m tempted to try to prop it up somehow.
That one is way too low IMO; just looking for an existing pic on the web.

Thanks for the reply. I think the problem is probably that the mount has to be used with a tight cage, since I’ve never had this issue before and I’ve had a lot of different combinations in the past. I read about the XLAB Gorilla XT cage and just ordered a couple of those - the XT is supposed to be even better than the normal Gorilla for this purpose. Good that you’ve been able to use the Cannondale mount, that gives me hope I can work this out.
I use two x lab cages on the back of my slice.
I removed the Cannondale part as it seemed low for me. when I reached around.
I hook them right up to the seat at the top and I have never had a problem with them.
I just moved away from the slice setup to an x-lab super wing and gorilla cages. Was launching bottles with the slice setup and couldn’t find right cages - tried Elite and Arundel (non carbon). The gorillas might have done the trick but found a good deal on the wing. Very happy with the new setup.
I have zero issues with bottle losses with my setup.
