What’s the STA with the saddle in both the front and rear saddle position possibilities??
Anyone??
I don’t think the STAs have changed much over the years, so it’s very likely 73 in the forward position.
Also, given the geometry of the S5, the STA does not remain constant. If you have lots of seat post exposed, the geometry will be steeper. If you don’t, the STA will be slacker.
I’ve been looking around for the same info. I was told by my local bike shop that it is 78d in the steep position. Judging from this photo it definitely looks steeper than the single position seat post. The owner of this bike said he swapped the seat post because he wanted the steeper position.

I’m pretty sure its 73 in the fwd position However, here’s a couple of links you might find useful. See page 16/17 of the white paper for geometry.

That white paper is for the old S5. You can see this on the geo chart on page 16, where it shows stack = 605 at 58cm. New stack at 58cm is 588. The new (2015-) S5 now uses the same seat post as the other S series bikes.
What I don’t know is whether the new S5/old S2/S3 two position seat post was any different in terms of angle. Maybe it is a matter of offset? The forward position is zero offset, for an effective seat tube angle of 75 degrees?
Edit: just realized that the OP’s question was for the 2013-14 S5, not the new one.
I got this response directly from Cervelo:
“The 2 position seat post is a zero offset and a 25 setback. The stock post is a 15 setback.”
So the forward position is 15mm ahead of the one-position seat post.
The geometry table of the “old” S5 (2011 - 2014) … http://www.cervelo.com/media/docs/S5-486e5a1d-bd1e-4f8a-97e3-0308218a53a7-0.pdf
I guess with 25mm offset difference the 2 position seat post would have one big oval, mine has 40mm …
Good point! The two position seat post has two holes. It can’t be 25mm measured on centre because as you say the holes themselves are wider than that. Only thing I can think is that they’re measuring between the edges of the holes.
I’m going to buy one anyway, so I’ll measure it when I get it, and report back.
The 2 position seat post 40mm offset difference is mentioned in the geometry table of the old S5 … http://www.cervelo.com/media/docs/S5-486e5a1d-bd1e-4f8a-97e3-0308218a53a7-0.pdf
Good catch, that makes more sense. I’ll measure the new one to see if it’s the same.
