Scott Running Shoes- Road/Trail Experience or Opinions?

The good news: I won a pair of Scott shoes from a race I did this weekend. I get to choose which model. From what I know, the store I won them from carries the Scott road shoes and the Scott trail shoes.

The bad news: I don’t know anything about Scott shoes. Has anybody run in Scott shoes? Road? Trail? What do you think of them? Did you like them? Do you like your other road/trail shoes better?

Finally, is there a difference between the mens’ and womens’ models besides color? Pink is not my thing, and I like the colors offered for the mens’ models better.

Scott shoes are good from the runners I know who wear them, but they are basically under marketed. Their road and trail shoes seem pretty nice.

A great road trainer is the eRide Trainer. For something lighter or more race oriented try the T2. Its a great race shoe!

I’ve been running in the eRide grip and its a pretty sturdy shoe. I’d probably choose the Aztec II next time.

Our team is sponsored by Scott, so I chose a pair of the Scott Aztec II for trail running since I’m mainly an Xterra athlete and train on a lot of trails. I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by the trail performance and stability of the shoe, and I’m impressed with the durability. I train on a lot of rocky and jagged trails, and the Aztec II’s really grip the trail well and hold traction. The sole feels very solid on the jagged and off-camber rocky sections, and has enough of a forefoot plate that I don’t get jabbed by any rocks. The tread is “sticky” enough with a good pattern that slipping on the downhill sections isn’t a concern either. I run a lot of trails, and I’ve trained in the same pair for about 4 months and they’re still holding up well, which is very surprising considering the trails that I run. Probably the most impressive part of the shoe is its weight; its incredibly light for a training shoe. Its stable enough to do the heavy training, yet its actually light enough to race in. If you’re a fairly neutral runner looking for a great trail shoe that will provide great stability, traction, and longevity, try the Scott Aztec II’s.

I’ve been running in the scott T2’s for about a year now and love them. I’ve been through asics, brooks, k swiss and now into the scott’s. The only issue I have had is for the first few runs the upper part of the tongue rubbed my foot the wrong way, however with a little more break in they are now a dream to run in. They are wicked light and soft enough you don’t feel to beat up after a good long run. One thing to note is they run really small in my opinion. I wear an 11 in almost everything but when I got the T2’s in a 11 it was a no go, I had to size up one full size.
