Scott Plasma Premium 2012 with Pro Missile Evo Stem

Like the title says, does the Pro Missile Evo Stem work with the Premium frame? Or must be used the delivered one? The Plasma Premium frame set is delivered with a special stem.
Hope any one can help.

I asked Scott, they say it does not work. But they also said that the TT stem does not work on the Premium frame. This is not the case. Both have been put on there. Have a search for Scott Premium on the forum, this has been discussed on there previously.

PRO also state that it is designed to fit it too.

This is from the PRO guys:

When Team HTC-Columbia and Scott approached us for the development of a completely new aero stemto fit their revolutionary Scott Plasma project we just couldn’t refuse… The challenge of creating the world’s fastest aero stem within the UCI-limits using the latest technologies in terms of aerodynamics, materials and construction simply fits the PRO-philosophy. Besides the team’s requirements we also utilized our contacts with professional triathletes and time trial and aerodynamics specialists to be able to integrate the latest developments and innovations. Finally we went the extra mile by developing a matching aerodynamic monocoque carbon stem to complete the bars!

Stem:
PRO also introduces a carbon monocoque constructed stem that ensures a seamless connection to the aerobar. Highlight of this stem is an integrated brake and shift cable routing (compatible with SHIMANO Dura-Ace Di2). Furthermore, it features an integrated carbon front and top cap. The separate stem ensures a wide adjustability which is vital for a perfect aerodynamic and/or comfortable position. This stem comes in various lengths and comes with a 17 degree angle. Weight from 280 grams.

The PRO Missile Evo Kit is the new benchmark in terms of integration, aerodynamics and adjustability. Transform your position and your bike in a way that was never possible before and save precious seconds. When every second counts, go PRO.

For scott plasma premium, I don’t think it will work. The scott plasma 3 HTC Columbia used is the Di2 specific, the stem is different from the original manufactural stem for Scott plasma premium. If you look closely, the HTC Columbia scott plasma 3 is a pretty ‘flat’ stem with some kind of specific design, I was a bit disappointed to know that when thinking of getting plasma premium.

It will work I think. The flat stem has been put on lots of Premiums. Google Luke Mackenzie Plasma Premium on You Tube for one. That stem accepts internal Di2 routing but it serms it can still be used if that internal us not required.

You can remove the upright plasma stem and replace it with the flat stem. that is the current set up I’m running now as is sesel on this board.

where to get that flat stem ? Any idea??

Brian may know. You were supposed to be able to get 4 stem versions 75mm, 95mm in both 40mm raised and flat stems. That seemed to get limited to just the 75 and 95 in raised for the Premium.

I am not 100% sure that the Pro Missile stem commonly for sale on the internet is the Plasma shaped flat version by default. The way the Plasma versions have a cutout chunk to allow the for the upward angled stem seat while maintaining a flat top are a bit different I think.

Not sure why Scott seemed so keen to deny that the TT stem fits the Premium but I asked them three times and they said no each time (response posted elsewhere on this board). Since then loads of people seem to have done it with both Di2 and standard shifters.

Really, I don’t think the Pro Missile stem commonly for sale on the Internet is the Plasma shaped flat version by default. That is really the main problem, to find the way of getting that specific flat stem is a pain of searching.

One if athletes procured it when HTC disbanded. Their demise was to my benefit.

I’d check eBay and other cycling classifieds.

The “TT” stem that PRO made for the bike is not at all like the
Stem that PRO sells. You must find a team stem.
I have one on my bike. You can see pics in the show us your
Ride thread if you search. With the Missile Evo bars
It is pure beauty. It goes with the bike like Peanut
Butter with jelly. So much better than the stock stem.

Hi Rubberduck, didn’t you have a Plasma TT on order a while back? I’ve just taken delivery of a 2011 (Highroad) Plasma TT frame and a few posts from you came up while I was doing searches to find info on the frame.

Frameset is amazing, did you ever get yours?

Here are two pics of the flat stem on a plasma 3.

Hi Brian
Just wondering where you got the flat team stem from to go on the Premium ? I’m chasing one

I just bought a 2011 Plasma Premium (NOS). Interestingly, it has the TT steerer tube bolt and a cutout in the stem for running the cables. Unfortunately, the stem is a 90mm and I need a 75mm. Anyone have one to sell?

Have you got a picture of it you could send me ? I might be interested in buying what you have.

I might be interested in selling my brand new unused 90mm stem with the cut-out for running the cables through the steerer. Send your email to me at dkblume@yahoo.com

HOWEVER, I need to buy a 75mm first or I won’t have any stem to use. I have my LBS checking.

Did you get my email DKblume ???

I have both a 75 and 90 that are up for sale. These are the profile original stems that come with the frameset that have rise. Make me an offer if you are interested.
