Anyone else notice Mitchelton Scott had a new TT helmet on last night. Their old model has been around a few years now and due an upgrade so can only assume this is it? Will be interesting to see if Kienle is wearing one soon. Also note none of them had visors on.

I love Scott gear, but those don’t look very elegant (and hard to imagine they’d be as aero as other options with smoothly integrated visor).
I thought exactly the same but always interested to see new gear. The colour scheme did the helmet no justice as they seem to do when they are in development.
That indeed appears to be a new TT lid. There appears to be a provision for a visor.
More pics and appears to have a removable lower section to be used more as an aero road helmet like the Endura TT lid.

.
They also have a comment on their youtube channel about it from their high performance director. They have wind tunnel tested it etc.
Their youtube channel is a great watch for an inside view of what happens with teams during grand tours. They put out a video each day after a stage (normally a decent lag time) and generally well produced. In stage footage much more limited now as the rights for video have become super expensive from what I can gather.

Guess it depends on how much ventilation/air flow these helmets afford for Kienle, I think he prefers aero road for ventilation over the watts lost by not using a TT lid. Doesn’t look like much to me but maybe Ali will wear it
That’s only at Kona. This one with a vent and does look cooler than the Split so i guess we will see soon enough.

For Kienle, he tested the Split TT helmet and Scott’s aero road helmet (forget the name) and only found a 1w difference between the two. That’s not surprising to me given his head position. Accordingly he often opts for the additional ventilation of the aero road helmet.
