No information on the Foil but there are a few over at weight weenies. I’ve been on a Scott Plasma 2 for my tt bike all season and the best fitting and fastest bike that I have ever owned!

Ditto on the plasma, my only dislike is rear facing drop outs. I hate those F’ing things!
To the OP, plently of Scotts here in NZ as the largest bike shop chain stock them. I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about them aside from that they’re pricey …
Love my Scott. 2011 Addict R3 also with 105 group (which is perfectly adequate for my needs). I did upgrade from a bottom of the line Bianchi Brava steel frame Sora equipped bike though, so the difference was chalk and cheese.
I relish the opportunity to post a pic of it too!!
A friend of mine is having a stupid problem with his foil. Whenever it rains the water just wont get out of the frame so he has to take the seatpost off and pour the water out of the frame from there. I also heard that people had problem with the seatpost sliding down.
My LBS used to carry scott but they stopped during the last year, when I asked them why they told me it was because they had a hard time getting the bikes and warrantying them so they got tired of scott and just dropped them but like they said, it was a shame since they made some pretty awesome and lightweight bike if it wasn’t of that.
I had a CR-1 frame that I had built up as a complete bike to 14.1 lbs for a 58cm size (with clinchers even!). Great stiff, light bike. Downside? Too stiff, so rough ride on iffy roads.
I have a 2010 Scott Addict R2 with full ultegra and Ksyrium SL Premiums. First off, i love it. The bike is very light yet very stiff. Mark Cavendish won a bunch of TDF stages on this frame. My usual rides are anywhere from 20 to 70 miles with 1k to 4k of climbing. Bike is a dream to climb in and comfortable in the saddle. I haven’t had any problems with it and recommend it highly.
amazing bikes! I have ten thousand miles on my 2011 addict r2 and love every minute on that thing. super light and stiff. I test rode the foil an was really pleased. it will be my next road bike.
Yea for the same level componant they are a bit more $…and yes the warrenty thing is a bit of a concern for me as with my luck things always happen just after warrenty runs out. Heard something an issue with rear derail hanger and seat post sliding.
the warrenty thing concerns me a bit. if they really stand by their product why don’t they provide the same warrenty as their competetors (trek, cannondale, cervelo…)
I still may take a chance and go for it. Was a nice ride. (both the cr1 and foil, addict no longer is made)
Usually a good price point bike. I have a team issue CR1 road bike with D/A that I’ve had for a few years - very light, two scott plasma2, one red and one D/A, plus a scott mtn bike. Never had a problem except with a ritchey seatpost on the plasma. Scott quickly sent me a new clamp.
I have a 2012 Foil 20 and 2011 Plasma 20, love the bikes, the foil is amazing, stiff, light, handles great and doesn’t beat me up. The plama is a perfect fit for me and I don’t see alot of them which is nice.
I’ve owned an '06 speedster, an '08 addict, and an '11 addict…I absolutely love the bikes and am super partial to them. Coming stock with Ritchey components and Mavic wheels are huge pluses (as opposed to the offbrand/internal crap other major bikes outfit their frames with). With that said, I’ve ridden the Foil, and compared to the Addict (now discontinued), it felt a little more rough. Its the same exact geometry, so I can’t really explain it other than it being just in my head or attributed to a brief 90 second ride that I had on it - but in terms of quality - I have had zero issues with the frames and these bikes were used over seasons and seasons of racing. But definately go test some bikes out and compare side by side, especially if you’re going to drop some serious dough.
