Schwalbe Ultremo-sweet tires

FYI, the Schwalbe Ultremo tires are pretty impressive. Just got another set; they weigh 186 grams each (700x23) versus the Vittoria KX’s I had (244 grams). That’s a pretty significant weight savings.
In my opinion, the Schwalbe’s ride better than Conti 4000’s though still not as wonderfully supple as the Vittorias. But they are a lot easier to mount.
Additionally, the Ultremo seems much more puncture resistant than the Diamente Pro Lights but at about the same weight.
They ultemo’s also come in a variety of colors to satisfy your inner geek.

I bought the Ultremos at biketiresdirect. Great customer service and they ship the same day.

Got to agree, used to buy them back in the day. Great tires but, had a short life span. Hope they have improved as mentioned on that site. Would like to try them again. As I recall, they were fantastic in the rain.

I have them on my track training wheels. Excellent grip, but have obviously not tried them in the rain.
Roll well, and can handle decent pressures.

They are lasting better than the Vittoria Corsas on the road bike, however the Vittorias are simply awesome when new/nearly new.

I like the Maxxis Equipe Legerre’s too. they are similar to the Schwalbes in weight (180ish grams). Of note I hate conti’s–the cloth thread covering the bead always wears out before the tire does, usually in about 1 season. I’ll never buy conti’s again for this reason alone
