Sent you a PM.
Not sure if you still need some help…but I grew up in Schaumburg, IL. Besides Liftetime there are a few outdoor pools - 50 Meter called MEINKE - it is at Roselle Road and Weathersfield. Not sure of their hours b/c it is a funky seasonal pool. There is also the CRC - which is the Park District pool - it is on the WEST side of Schaumburg - it is a 25 yard pool, but nice. Of course there is a Bally’s, but that is NOT a nice pool at all. Hope that helps - let me know if you need anything else.

There is a YMCA in Palatine, not too far from Schaumburg that has pool and masters team. Masters starts tonight. Its a nice Y, expecially is you have kids. Its at Roselle and NW highway (Rt 14).

Whoa – this is just WAY too weird, and I’m too young for this kind of flash-back!
Not only did I grow up in Schaumburg & live there for 22 years, I worked at Meineke for four years and my folks still live just off Wise Road near Braintree. Unfortunately you are going to live about 3-4 miles from the main residential areas, so you’d be limited to health clubs unless you were willing to drive 10-15 min.
Meineke is 50m and would be great for outdoor swimming (Just east of Roselle Road on Weathersfield Way). My dad works out at the Twinbrook Y on Wise (just west of Roselle Road), which has an indoor pool for your winter training.
Thanks for freaking me out like that – what a small world!

Another former Schaumburg person (lived in Schaumburg/Elk Grove area for 34 years before moving to So.Cal 5 years ago) chiming in:
Meineke, as mentioned, CAN be a cool pool if you swim in the morning with the masters program. Unfortunately, at that time, the masters programs was really just the high school swim time summer training (there wasn’t any personalized attention like there are in the masters programs out here in So.Cal), and they typically only have 1 or 2 lanes open in the 50 meter pool at night. The remainder of the pool is a public recreation pool.
There is also the CRC, but I believe that was more expensive. You can call the Schaumburg Park District and find out.
I eventually went back to swim at the Pavilion Rec Center in Elk Grove (depending on where you live in Schaumburg, it may be easier to get to than the CRC). It was only $3/swim, had a few decent swimmers typically there, and brought back memories of swimming at that indoor pool when I was in the 7th grade (and it was Lively Junior High School).
Much depends on where you live, and where you work. Palatine is sort of a haul (especially just after work when it could take a lifetime to get up 53 to Palatine), Roselle, Arlington Heights, Elk Grove all have some options…
…and one last place might be Harper Junior College (where they have Wednesday night track workouts as well). There used to be a woman who coached a masters program there that was awesome (I believe she also coached at NW Community Health Center in A.H.?).
Good luck…and you could always swim at the 10 yard pool at Bally’s on Meacham Road across from Woodfield LOL
