SBR tri slide, clean shaven legs, and other wonders

Okay, just picked up the wonder spray, SBR trislide to test out at a sprint tri tomorrow. Now the tricky part. I’ve never shaved the legs before, and although I’m sure it would provide countless grins and giggles for the family, I’m not convinced it will make all that big of a difference when it comes to wetsuit removal. So from those of you who have gone from trying to take off a wetsuit over the Alley Oop style lower leg to a freshly shorn pair, did you really see any difference? Pool weather is on the way, and there’s a part of me that doesn’t really want to get the shaving flywheel started.

You have to shave or the wetsuit will stick to your legs so bad, you will have an 8 minute T1. Also, all that leg hair will slow you down on the bike AND on the run. So get those hedge trimmers out and get whacking. Shave your armpits and vag while you are at it.

No impact on wetsuit removal. The wetsuit rolls over itself, and only pulls off at the ankles. Also, it this was an issue, we’d all be shaving our arms too. Last proof point; Andy Potts, top pro and former NCAA Div1. All American swimmer, doesn’t shave and gets his wetsuits off just fine.

Shaving is more for non-wetsuit swimming, easier cycling crash bandaging, and easier massages. Do it for those reasons.

Don’t forget the #1 reason.

Makes you look leaner and more cut
