No matter what kind of shirt I wear I seem to get very uncomfortable (read running like a chicken while holding my shirt away from my chest) after about 45 mins. My solution has been to slop some Vaseline on them for the long runs and it seemed to be working, until I just noticed that there are large vaseline stains on the those shirts in two circular patterns. I don’t think it’s hurting the shirts per se but it’s kind of disgusting (especially on the white ones)…
If you can bring yourself to answer a thread with the phrase “large vaseline stains” in it… is there a solution to this? Tighter shirts? I can’t be the first person to face this conundrum.
Under Armor compression shirts, or the Walmart equivalent for much less money work well for me. Unless it’s really hot I wear them under my regular t-shirt.

Body glide will work for you. I’ve never had a problem until i started running 8+ hours a week with most my runs being over an hour. It will work for ya.
Go with the bandaids. I used to come off of long treadmill runs looking like I lost a knife fight. You will eventually toughen up enough not to need anything eventually.
I haven’t tried it before on nipples, mine or otherwise, but when I was rowing I would put NewSkin on my blisters and it worked a ton better than tape. Maybe try a layer of newskin on the nips. You’d have to do it about 10 min before the run but it should be less invasive than bandaids and vaseline.
i feel your pain!
the shower afterwards is also exciting… trying to wash but avoid water hitting the nipples!
i had a similar shock about ten years ago when i looked in the mirror at the gym and notice huge round stains from vaseline… it looked like i was lactating! (not a good look for a guy who is already self conscious of his man breasts in the first place!)
personally i don’t get on with plasters/nipple guards as i have a hairy(ish) chest so the plaster doesn’t sit flush. didn’t really affect performance but i just felt a bit uncomfortable with them.
i now use sudocream (the stuff for babies bums!)
it has the added benefit of moisturising at the same time
there is a down sit… it is white so can show through i black lycra. but it washes out perfectly.
I do the circle bandaids for longer runs and races.
One time it got really hot before the race so I ditched the shirt at the start line. Ran a 5K with ‘pasties.’ Didn’t realize it until I got home a took my shirt off to jump in the shower. (Thankfully there was no race photographer)
I have a stash of the little circle bandaids…don’t go on any run longer than 3 miles with out them.

Smaller nipples. It works for me, I’ve never had a problem with chafed personal parts.
