Saucony sizing

Currently run in Asics. I am interested in getting a pair of Saucony fast twitch endurance for quicker training and racing. How does Saucony sizing compare to say the DS Trainer. If I’m an 11 (45) in Asics will I be the same in Saucony? Also, how’s the width fitting, as Saucony wider (i have narrow feet)?

No shop near me stocking Saucony so will have to amil order hence the Q.

Thanks.

odering a shoe without ever wearing it? Well, taking your chances with that, BUT the Asics line has been running a smidge big, but i’d still order the 11.

Haven’t run in Asics in quite a while, but the Saucony’s I run in now both run true to sizing compared with Nike, Brooks, Fila, Reebok, and prettty much every other running shoe I’ve used. The only time I’ve ever found running shoes to be “offsize” is for small companies or ones that are based out of another country and are doing the conversion from EU sizing to US.

The Fastwitch is not particularly narrow, but I definitely wouldn’t call it wide. “Average,” I guess. I have very narrow feet and I really like the fastwitch. I use the speed version for fast running and 1/2IM racing.

I rotate between the DS Trainer, saucony fasttwitch & tangent, and I wear a men’s 9 in all 3. So I’d say the sizing is consistent. I love the Fasttwitch!

I don’t have any Asics experience, but I do run in Saucony’s and have a pair of Fastwitch Endurance that I race in.

I am a size 10.5 in most normal footwear and was told to go with an 11 Saucony shoe when I got my first pair (Trigon 3’s). I’ve been running in the Trigon’s ever since and the 11 seems to be perfect. The Fastwitch I got at the end of last year and they are the same size 11. They are a bit more snug than the Trigons but are crazy light and have a lot less rubber/material in the toe box area. Really well designed for speed.

I’ve only used them up to 1/2 mary. distances but have been happy with them. I also use them in shorter races with good results. My only complaint on longer runs is that my ankles seem to be more stressed and have been sore more than usual on those efforts.

For sizing I’d say probably stick with what you have been wearing, an 11 should work. Go try on some of the regular models for fit and compare. Their sizing is pretty consistent through the line. :shrugs:

I’ll reiterate with the others. I’m a 9 DS Trainer and a 9 Saucony type-A and fastwitch end. Should be an even swap for 'ya

Not to hijack the thread, but I have to ask. How do the Type As compare to the DS trainers for wear? I have run in DS trainers for the last three seasons and they don’t wear well at all. I get 150 miles out of them if I am lucky. I have heard good things about the Sauconys and want to try a pair. Also, do you train in the Type As and race in the Fasttwitch? Sorry, I’m not that familiar with the Saucony product line.

Excellent question! Yes, I can’t get much more than 150 miles out of a DS Trainer either (forefoot is toast) - I’ve given up on them. The type A’s are the best lasting lightweight racing shoe I’ve ever experienced. I have 400 miles on a pair (and I think Rappstar is reporting the same)! I race in them for IM and marathon and now train in them for everything. I do 5K-15K races in the fastwitch, but I might just use the “old” type-As (I finally got a new pair) as then feel about the same
