I use the Saucony Endorphin Pro only for races and interval runs. I’m 180 lbs and run mostly on concrete. I’m starting to get a slight pain under my kneecap, only when running in these shoes. I’m fine when running in other shoes. For me, this pain usually indicates that I’ve gone too many miles in the shoes, however, I’ve only gone 150 miles in these shoes. I typically retire shoes at 300-350 miles.
Could these carbon shoes already be near end-of-life after 150 miles?
I’ve put in excess of 300mi on a couple of pairs of Pros, and closer to 400 or more with the Speeds. This is not necessarily something I would recommend, just an anecdotal experience that I’ve had.
I put 430 miles on my Speeds and the only reason I stopped is because the left is making a squeaking sound, I think the plate is separating from the sole. Functionally I think they shoes still work.
I’m 145 lbs and when I used the Mizuno rider I’d usually get 600+ miles
I would be surprised if the shoes, alone, at 150 miles are the cause of your pain. I’ll go over 500 miles on a normal pair of trainers. For a super shoe, maybe it’s more like 300. I generally race in them up to 100 miles & then they become a workout shoe. I have a pair of Endorphin Pro’s that has made it to 400 miles. I’m just about ready to get rid of them but they’re still hanging on.
I have like 50 on mine now and they still are the same as 0 miles. I have gotten over 400 miles on each of my Vaporfly/Next % shoes and have read others say similar for this shoe.
We’re seeing people getting anywhere from ~ 300 to 700 from them.
The higher mileage runners seem to be the ones that are lighter on their feet, lower ground contact time, more economical type runners.
The one’s on the lower end of the scale tend to be heavier and/or heavier on their feet, longer ground contact time, more plodder type runners
