I’m not a Saris staff or sponsored athlete or anything, but am a relatively new CycleOps Hammer owner (courtesy of ST classifieds and fellow STer) and wanted to pass along some useful info if you have a Hammer and either have never updated the firmware or haven’t done so recently.
I was having trouble using the Saris app when I got the Hammer 2 weeks ago. It would not recognize the Hammer via bluetooth, despite Zwift on the AppleTV and iPhone finding the Hammer just fine. I wanted to update the firmware and calibrate. Via Rouvy I could calibrate the Hammer but not update the firmware. I almost was going to buy the dongle and borrow a friend’s PC laptop…
But Saris replied to my customer support email within a couple of days and said they had updated the Saris app. At first I was doubtful since I felt I had just tried it, but literally in the last 1-2 weeks, they did because it now works! The app now finds the Hammer fine and I was able to both calibrate the trainer and update the firmware to 31.063 via the app. 31.063 is newer than even what’s currently listed on their website: https://www.saris.com/support/firmware
