I have a friend who is convinced that sandbag routines are the best way to build core strength and that they have a lower injury risk than free-bar weight-lifting like squats and deadlifts and kettlebell swings. Routines available for free on YouTube (I don’t have any URLs yet). Very simple equipment required, too - maybe $100 bucks for a 30# sandbag.
Does all this sound reasonable for focusing my strength training on sandbag routines?
I have been carrying an assorted selection of Dry Bags around with me on my travels for a few years.I just fill them with sand at the beach and bingo there is a selection of sandbag kettlebells and drag/weight bags for me to use.
the majority of what i was doing was swings and snatches. i had a routine i had put together myself from different youtube vids i had watched. youtube is a goldmine for routines.
damon, do you think our captex is toast?
i havnt seen an official word yet, but austin has shut down all nonessential city services from what i’ve read. it wouldn’t surprise me if they do cancel it, but the saving grace so far is the race is still two months out so they have a little time to wait it out and see what happens.
